Crunchyroll y Adult Swim han liberado el primer trailer de Shenmue the Animation, una esperada serie de tan sólo 13 episodios, inspirada en los famosos juegos de SEGA, y que es dirigida por Chikara Sakurai (Magimoji Rurumo, One-Punch Man Season 2).

Shenmue the Animation tiene como productor ejecutivo a Yu Suzuki (creador y diseñador de los juegos); esta serie es producida por Telecom Animation Film (Tower of God, Lupin the Third: Part 5) y se espera esté disponible en 2022.
